Lazy Sunday

Today was an at home day. Jack hung out in his swing, napped, rolled over, and played. Apparently, this was not enough activity for him, because he has been pretty grumpy this evening. We will have to be sure he gets out of the house tomorrow!

Best Buds

Cassady is an amazing big sister. When we were out yesterday, I heard nothing but compliments about how responsible and helpful she is. She loves to hold Jack and play with him - and he adores her. Jack is a lucky boy!

Ewe Are Crazy!

Jack, Cassady & I went out today. We found these adorable sheep at Target. We were testing the theory of counting the sheep to see if they did, in fact, put Jack to sleep. Alas, it did not work. He merely looked mildly annoyed at us.

Neat Freak

We have been running around more than usual, and our house isn't quite as clean as it should be. Perhaps it's time to tidy up a bit - even Jack seems frightened of the clutter!

Blow Out

Jack had a diaper explosion today - his biggest yet! So large, in fact, that it required both parents for the clean up, as well as an immediate bath. He likes the bath, as long as he has the "modesty cloth" on him. Then he is happy to sit and soak. No splashing yet from him, although he does like to liven things up with a few sprinkles of his own from time to time.

More Gaming...

Since Cassady's birthday, the favorite activity in our house seems to be gaming. Jack really likes to watch the action - he smiles and laughs at the screen. I think it's more fun to watch him!

School Day

We went back to Cassady's school today to have lunch with her. Jack really liked the cafeteria - and all Cassady's friends really liked Jack! Being a baby gets you a lot of attention.

Training

Cassady recieved a new Wii game for her birthday and Bill has been playing it most of the day. Jack enjoys watching the motion on the screen and being held by Daddy. I think we have a future gamer here!

Cassady's Birthday

Cassady turned 10 today! We celebrated with a birthday brunch, gift opening, and dinner out. Cassady then went off to the roller derby with her dad, Bill, and her friend. Jack supervised the opening of the gifts from his swing, napped, then decided he needed to be the center of attention again. He does not enjoy sharing the spotlight.

All Better!

Two years ago, Daddy smashed up the front of my car. Yesterday, it was finally fixed. Jack gets to ride in style now!

Heads Up

Jack is feeling much better today. He had a little crankiness last night but it only lasted for a few minutes. He ended up sleeping from 9pm - 6am! His long sleep gave him enough energy for some tummy time today.

2 Month Checkup

Although Jack was officially 2 months old on the 11th, we went to see Dr. U today for his checkup. Naturally, he is doing well - he is up to 13 lbs 14 oz (90th percentile) and 23 and 1/4 inches (75th percentile)! He did not mind being examined, but the 3 shots didn't go over so well. Poor little guy...

Day of Many Naps

Jack was fatigued today. First, he & Daddy camped out on the floor until noon. Next, he snoozed while Daddy used his laptop. He rounded out his busy (but clearly exhausting) day by napping in his swing. All that cuteness must really take it out of him!

Nice Threads

Cassady and I were entertaining Jack by playing Wii sports. He really likes watching me attempt to play baseball. Side note: Daddy picked out Jack's non-matching outfit today. All the adorable sleepers & this is what poor little Jack ends up wearing. Le sigh.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Despite the holiday, Jack has spent today much like most other days. A little napping, a little snacking, and lots of diaper changes. Unlike other days, however, today he got a new hat. (Thanks, Grammie!) He was adamantly against wearing it facing forward - he does not appreciate his vision being obstructed in any way. Even with the hat backwards, it was barely tolerated. We have to work on this!

Everybody Has Those Days

Jack is a bit fussy today. As in, nothing makes him happy and he is refusing to nap. I am trying to look on the bright side - maybe this means he will sleep all night?

Tikki Time

Jack & I spent the day alone today because Daddy was working. Perhaps the lack of adult conversation got to me, because normally I do not make a habit of perching the baby on Tikki man's head. (Really, I don't!!)

Informance

We journeyed to Cassady's school today to watch her sing & dance with her classmates. Jack enjoyed the artwork on the walls, but as you can see, he was relatively unimpressed with the performance. Everyone's a critic!

Twins?

Jack & Daddy are looking alike these days. Daddy decided hair was too high maintenance, so he is copying Jack's signature hairstyle. They were using the computer to watch the preview for the "Last Airbender" movie...looks like Jack gets sucked in by anything moving on a screen just like Daddy!

Mr. Jelly Neck

Jack sleeps best in his swing - we are talking premuim nappage. Problem is, he is too big for the head support insert, so his little noggin is always horizontal. It looks incredibly uncomfortable, but apparently he finds it quite lovely.

New Laptop!!

Today is a very special day! I (finally) got my new laptop! Jack was very impressed with his blog..it caught his atttention for at least 8 seconds.

Superbowl Sunday

While Jack has yet to declare a preference for any particular team, it felt wrong to let him skip out on his first Superbowl! We don't follow football - in fact, we are not even watching the game - but we had to get involved with the occasion somehow!

PS: the "feet" on this sleeper are little footballs too!!

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

We discovered today that Jack likes talking about cars. A mention of any type of transportation gets him grinning. He particularly enjoys hearing the words "Camero", "Hot Rod", and "Horsepower".

Gamers

Cassady is taking her role as big sister very seriously. She clearly understands that it is her responsibility to teach Jack all about video games, specifically Zelda. What a good big sister she is!!

Let's Bounce

Our days are relatively uneventful right now. Jack mostly sleeps, eats and requires (frequent) diaper changes. Sometimes he enjoys sitting his bouncy seat, other times he prefers the swing. We are looking forward to getting a "Johnny Jump Up" for him to use - it will be entertaining to watch, too!

New Blankie

Jack got a present in the mail today - a new handmade blankie from Grandma Debbie! It is so cute and super soft. I have already borrowed it a few times..

Six More Weeks of Winter?!?!

We are getting pretty tired of being cooped up in the house - we went to the store again just to get out! Jack really likes Wal Mart - it seems to be his favorite place to go. (He hates the library. Every time we go he cries inconsolably!)

Growing!

Today we went "window shopping" as a fun way to get out of the house. We also learned that Jack is now 13 lbs 12 oz and 22.5 inches - he is a big boy!
