Does it seem like all Jack & I do is take walks anymore? We are really getting some mileage out of his stroller these days! Today we headed to Memorial Park for a quick jaunt through the autumn leaves. We stopped to rest for a few minutes and I gave Jack a few leaves to play with. He liked thowing them back on the ground, over and over again. Other than that, he really didn't find the leaves to be all that scintillating. He much preferred to be on the go. He's more of a mover & a shaker!
Happy Halloween! Tonight we took our little Jack-o-Lantern out for his first official trick or treating. Cassady gathered candy door to door with a friend from school, while Jack rode happily in his stroller. Although we didn't take him up to any houses, Cassady was excited to receive extra candy from more than a few people for her little brother. I'm not planning to save it for him, so she scored a few extra treats - just for having an adorable little brother!

Jack outgrew his infant seat, and it was time for an upgrade. This gray and green combo was our favorite, plus the seat goes up to 65 pounds (at the rate he has been growing, this may be sometime next month.) He'll be riding in style...and he even has cupholders now...woohoo!!
With the weather turning downright chilly lately, we bought a hat for Jack today. His head is too big for the infant sized headwear, so we bought an adult cap for him. It's knitted, but the inside is lined with super soft fleece. He doesn't seem to mind it too much, and only took it off after it slipped down over his eyes. Tomorrow we are off to get some fall/winter clothes for him. I think we are going to be getting 18 month sized items, just to make sure he doesn't outgrow it all too quickly. He's getting so big now!
Today Jack enjoyed gnawing on a Baby Mum Mum (not a coke can, Grammie!!) while reminiscing about all the fun he had. Apparently he is suffering from a touch of PTD (post trip depression). He seems happy enough to be home, but methinks he is a bit sad to be out of the carseat. It was his second home for 14 days, after all!
Scorning the idea of a more traditional cap, Jack is taking a bold fashion risk today. Interestingly enough, he seems to prefer the casual brown pant to any of the hats he has tried previously. Notice how he carefully coordinated the brown football with his new head wear...what a trendsetter!
Spring has finally arrived. By this, I mean that we have had two warm days in a row. I am trying to get started on the spring cleaning, but Jack can be very distracting. He still is not on any sort of schedule, so one of our April goals is to establish a regular bedtime. Perhaps he will even start sleeping in his crib....ha ha ha.
Jack loved every minute that he got to wear the giant leprechaun hat. Really, he did.
Cassady recieved a new Wii game for her birthday and Bill has been playing it most of the day. Jack enjoys watching the motion on the screen and being held by Daddy. I think we have a future gamer here!
Despite the holiday, Jack has spent today much like most other days. A little napping, a little snacking, and lots of diaper changes. Unlike other days, however, today he got a new hat. (Thanks, Grammie!) He was adamantly against wearing it facing forward - he does not appreciate his vision being obstructed in any way. Even with the hat backwards, it was barely tolerated. We have to work on this!
One of my favorite Christmas activities is to go see the Gingerbread houses at the Mormon Visitor's Center. Since Grammie is still in town, we invited her along. We also looked at Christmas lights along the way. Jack was not as impressed by the gingerbread creations. I am pretty sure that he didn't even wake up the whole time we were there. Hard to believe that next year when we go, he will probably be 
running around!
