A Perfect Ten

Jack is officially 10 months old today.

Let's let that sink in a moment, shall we? While we are recovering from the shock that the last 10 months has flown by so quickly, let's take a look at what he's up to now. He is crawling everywhere, climbing over anything in his path and pulling up on any surface taller than him. He started making random "ma" and "ba" sounds, but he only does this when very excited. The only thing that excites him enough to vocalize consonants is eating.
And speaking of eating, he's got that skill down pat. He has tried all sorts of new foods lately: funnel cake (I blame Daddy), pineapple, spaghetti, lentils, split pea soup and lots more. He is quite adept at feeding himself dry foods (ie: Cheerios and graham crackers), but is still adamantly refusing to put anything wet (ie: peas and corn) into his mouth.
He is a happy little guy and very playful. His favorite words that make him giggle are: jammies, sayuki (a show that Daddy & Cassady watch), and the phrase "you eated the breakfast". His favorite toys are: anything electronic (especially Daddy's laptop & Mommy's phone), the controller for Cassady's Game Cube, Sophie and his activity table.
He's a sweet little guy & gives lots of hugs and kisses. He has been sleeping in his crib for most of the night for the last 2 weeks. He likes to hold onto the handle of his carseat, making it look like he is riding the bus. He has the cutest gigantic smile ever and if you really get him laughing you can see all 6 teeth. He's a keeper :)

Sliders

This will probably come as a huge surprise, but we walked to the park again. It feels like summer out there today - too bad we can't get to the pumpkin patch today! Cassady took Jack for a spin on the slides. He loved it! He is getting very adventurous - when we first started going to the park, he refused to crawl around in the sand. Today I had to chase him all over the playground. Shades of what is to come, I am sure!

Stroll & Snack

We hit the road today. Jack was in his stroller, while Cassady, her friend & I did the strolling. With summer-like temperatures, we just had to get out of the house. And we sure did! We took a four hour walk, visiting a few stores and getting lots of fresh air. We ended up being gone longer than I'd planned, so it was a good thing I had some snacks stashed away in the stroller. Jack does not like to be kept waiting when he decides it is time to eat!

Autumn Bliss

We went for a walk to the park again today.

Perfect weather + swings + sand to crawl in + leaves to crunch over = a wonderful end to the week.

We love fall.

More Baby Kisses!

Jack is clearly starved for attention. Poor little guy is just ignored all the time. No one ever plays with him, reads to him, loves on him...nope. He just sits in his crib all day, all alone.
Yeah Right.

Baby Kisses

I love when my babies play together. It is just the cutest thing ever. Jack adores Cassady, and the feeling is very mutual. During dinner, Jack is usually so busy watching Cassady that I have to resort to drastically silly measures to get his attention back on eating. I think that is saying something about how much he likes her...because this baby looooves his dinner!

Un Nouveau Chapeau Pour Jacques

With the weather turning downright chilly lately, we bought a hat for Jack today. His head is too big for the infant sized headwear, so we bought an adult cap for him. It's knitted, but the inside is lined with super soft fleece. He doesn't seem to mind it too much, and only took it off after it slipped down over his eyes. Tomorrow we are off to get some fall/winter clothes for him. I think we are going to be getting 18 month sized items, just to make sure he doesn't outgrow it all too quickly. He's getting so big now!

Sidenote: Jack put himself to sleep tonight. I let him play in his crib, and after about 10 minutes he fell fast asleep. It's a miracle!!
