Funny Farm

I know these posts have become somewhat of a photo bomb lately...it's just that Jack is so super cute these days & I have a tough time choosing just one picture to share. Also I might be trying to make up for the month of March when I missed pretty much every day. Hmmm. Either way, enjoy these lovely photos of Jack in his jammies :)

Playing Catch Up...

Whew! It's been awhile, hasn't it?! I started working full time back on February 18 - who knew working would interfere so much with my blogging schedule!! After spending the last month working a crazy schedule (4pm - 2am), I am starting in a new position with new hours on Monday. (8:30-5, like a normal person!) I will try to resume normal picture posting again - I know how you've missed your Jack updates :)

So what have we been up to lately? Well...we've done some shopping....some hanging out on the car in our manly flannel shirts....

and we've spent time riding in the car, being super cute....

Jack has also grown more teeth, learned some super cool dance moves (I will be getting video of that as soon as possible), taken everything out of the cupboards & drawers approximately 96 times (per day) and has added to his repertoire of noises/words. That's right - he's now saying "mama", "baba" and something that sounds pretty close to "hi", but he hasn't quite mastered the "h" yet. Stay tuned.

Tell Us How You Really Feel...

We did a little shopping today for Cassady's upcoming birthday. Jack is a real trooper when it comes to shopping trips, but as you can see, he is not shy about letting us know how he feels about being confined in the cart!

P-I-Z-Z-A!!

Since Jack decided to get up for the day at 4 this morning, I ran out of energy before dinner. Luckily, Daddy picked up a pizza on his way home. Jack loves pizza. He ate 1.5 slices, plus a banana. Hopefully all that deliciousness will fill his little tummy and put him to sleep. I could really go for a full 8 hours of sleep. I think I'd like that even more than the pizza!

Woe Is Jack

Jack has devloped the habit of walking around with his sippy cup in his mouth. He doesn't really mind if it is full or empty, he just likes to carry it with him. He tried walking around with an empty plastic bowl earlier. Unfortunately, he fell face down onto the bowl and got a bit of a bloody lip. He needed lots of hugs and kisses, but has made a full recovery. I'm guessing that from now on, he will stick to the sippy cup!

Sip It

Jack has transitioned nicely to using a sippy cup. He drinks mostly water and (extremely) watered down juice. He prefers cranberry or a cranberry pomegranate blend, both 100% juice. I've tried giving him almond milk in his sippy, but he's really not into it. We're avoiding cow's milk because both Daddy & Cassady have some allergies. I need to find a milk substitute he will drink, especially since he's getting closer to being fully weaned. (He nurses at bedtime, and sometimes in the wee hours of the morning.) We'll keep trying new things...one of these days we'll find something he likes!

The Sippy Cup

We've been working on mastering the sippy cup, and for the most part, I think he has it down. Sometimes that means literally pointed down, as he really likes chewing on the bottom of the cup for some reason. I think he uses it more as a teething toy than a hydration tool. He always refused to drink from a bottle, so this is all new to him. I don't think he cares for the water much, but I'm not introducing juice quite yet. I think he'll get plenty of sugary goodness eventually, so there's no need to rush into it!

Can you guess what he's doing?

Just A Sip

As you may know already, Jack has always refused the bottle. Granted, we only really tried to give him a bottle once, but the experience was so horrid that we chose not to do it again. I decided to skip bottles altogether, and go straight to the sippy cup. We finally purchased a few gender appropriate cups today, and gave Jack a chance to try one out. Remember yesterday when I told you that we are in the "all the world's a chew toy phase"? Well, predictably, that is exactly what happened to the sippy spout. I am not sure he got any water out, but he did like having a new surface to gum. For about 5 seconds. Then he threw it down and wanted Sophie instead. Another thing to work on!
